Legacy in Ice
Das Erbe im Eis
Plot Summary
David terGorden addresses the Driver Council on Sarym, warning of the impending Kaiser Force catastrophe and the need to find a solution, potentially linked to his heritage and the weapon of the Ancients. He reveals his intention to travel to Earth to claim his corporate inheritance and seek the Book Myriam, hoping to unlock his potential. His friends are skeptical and concerned, and the council refuses him a ship. Feeling isolated, David seeks guidance from the PSI aura of the maritime coral city, encountering Aura Damona Mar, who confirms his path to Earth and the importance of the Book Myriam.
With Mandorla, David uses a storm-sailor, a living spaceship grown by Aura Damona Mar, to travel to Adzharis to collect mistletoe to strengthen his position with the Council of Corporations. There, he meets Nayala, Narda, and Asen-Ger, who pledge to support him. They travel to Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, Ignazius Tyll, the acting Lord Colonel, struggles with increasing unrest and sabotage while powerful GeneralManags like Marya Briden, Hendrik dalghson, and Shamir Zhymer plot to seize control. Chan de Nouille, the Great Gray, becomes a key player in the power struggles.
David arrives on Earth and confronts Ignazius Tyll, asserting his claim to Biotroniks. He seeks to revive Yggdrasil in Greenland. Chan de Nouille promises support. However, an attempt is made to poison David, which is thwarted by Narda and Nayala. They discover that Chan de Nouille is concealing information about the space-time stroboscopes. Narda and Nayala investigate the food supply manipulations, tracing them back to Marya Briden. They are attacked, and David is injured.
Despite the dangers, David successfully claims his inheritance and becomes a GeneralManag, gaining access to his father's palace and the potential secrets within. The GeneralManags are plotting to remove Ignazius Tyll from power and take control of the Council of Corporations. Chan de Nouille is also working to consolidate her own power. The story ends with David having achieved his initial goal, but facing immense challenges and dangers on Earth, with the threat of the Kaiser Force catastrophe looming.
