Alpha-Omega Class Grand Battleship

Großraumschlachtschiff der Alpha-Omega-Klasse

Overview

The Alpha-Omega Class Grand Battleship is the most powerful warship in the fleet of the Council of Corporations. At 3.5 kilometers in length, these massive vessels serve as the backbone of corporate military power, capable of subduing entire star systems. The Lordkaiser — flagship of Max von Valdec, the self-proclaimed Emperor of Earth — is the most feared ship of this class. Nearly fifty Omega-class cruisers with their distinctive funnel-shaped hulls formed the Council's armada, but the Alpha-Omega variants dwarf them all. Powered by primary matter-antimatter fusion reactors and a secondary plasma accelerator, these vessels carry a crew of 5,000 and are equipped with dual modern weapon batteries, laser knife batteries, and modern plasma batteries. The cutaway reveals the intricate internal structure across 34 numbered compartments — from the command bridge at the apex through reactor and propulsion systems, crew habitats for thousands, hangar decks for strike fighters, and the formidable weapon and defense arrays that make these ships the ultimate expression of corporate power.

Kurierboot "Standard"

Courier Boat — Standard Configuration

Overview

The Kurierboot is the workhorse of the Council of Corporations' courier fleet — fast, compact vessels designed for urgent interstellar message delivery and classified personnel transport. Equipped with a Mark IV Gravimetric main drive and capable of 0.2c sub-light speed, these 22.8-meter boats carry up to 1.5 tons of sealed Class A cargo across corporate space. The OMEGA-32, an Alpha-courier variant of this design, famously carried Queen Ganshe of the Gray Guard before being intercepted and captured by the Terranauts during the events of "Cataclysm" (Episode 022). The OMEGA-64 served a similar role, delivering Stella's fateful message to Earth. This cutaway reveals the compact but sophisticated interior: the command bridge with dual pilot seating and tactical operations console, the primary gravimetric drive matrix, high energy condenser banks, secondary fusion injectors, and the dedicated courier payload bay that made these vessels indispensable to corporate command and control.

Solar Power Station

Solarkraftstation — Orbital Energy Collection & Distribution

Overview

The Solarkraftstation is a 750-meter orbital power station that forms the backbone of humanity's energy infrastructure in the 25th century. Positioned in solar orbit, these massive facilities collect stellar energy through reinforced nanocomposite grid structures and convert it via a central Fusion Reactor Core (Section 7) for distribution to colonies and fleets across the system. The stations also serve as waypoints, with habitation decks housing crew quarters, a mess hall, recreational facilities, hydroponics bays, and a medical bay. Their vulnerability became devastatingly apparent when the ENERGIELURCH vessels — experimental craft developed by Master Builder Zarkophin and activated by Max von Valdec — targeted Orbital Transformer Stations of similar design, creating artificial Space II rifts near Earth and threatening to collapse humanity's power grid. The destruction of these stations demonstrated how dependent corporate civilization had become on centralized energy infrastructure — and how fragile that dependency made them.

Hibernation Chamber HC-2100

Hibernationskammer — Cryogenic Suspended Animation System

Overview

The HC-2100 Hibernation Chamber is the standard cryogenic suspended animation unit used aboard both military and civilian vessels throughout corporate space. Hibernation technology is essential to interstellar travel — entire ship sections called Hibernation Tracts are dedicated to rows of these chambers, holding hundreds or thousands of passengers in deep cryogenic sleep. The technology proved critical during the crisis aboard the freighter TAMERLAN, which carried 1,500 Silent Drivers in hibernation pods. When the ship encountered Cosmic Spores that transformed the conscious crew, only the hibernating personnel remained untouched — including Claude Farrell, who entered a chamber as an emergency survival measure. The cutaway reveals the multi-layer cryogenic compartment, biometric head-restraint and ventilation system, main diagnostic display panel, articulated arm restraints, gas handling modules, life support circulation pumps, and the electrical power and cooling systems that maintain stable cryogenic temperatures during voyages that can last months or years.

Sarym-Schirm Projector

Sarym Shield Projector — Portable PSI-Suppression Device

Overview

The Sarym-Schirm Projector is one of the most strategically significant technologies in the Terranauts universe — a portable device that generates a field capable of suppressing and neutralizing PSI abilities. Named after the planet Sarym, whose natural PSI-Aura can overwhelm even the most gifted psychics, this technology was weaponized by the Council of Corporations to control Drivers and other PSI-sensitive individuals. The Gray Guard deployed Sarym Projectors in multiple configurations: miniaturized versions hidden under seats in interrogation rooms, portable generators for field operations, and screen systems protecting entire living quarters — such as the chambers of the feared Chan de Nouille. In "The PSI-Seekers" (Episode 028), the Sarym Shield is described as a shield that "stifles psionic activity," making it the Council's primary tool for keeping its enslaved Driver workforce compliant. The cutaway reveals the device's Sarym Field Condenser, superconducting induction coil array, forward field projector lens, plasma fuel storage, and the compact fusion reactor that powers eight hours of continuous PSI-suppression from a package weighing just 165 kilograms.

Ringo-Raumer

Ring Cruiser — Gray Guard Standard Configuration

Overview

The Ringo-Raumer is the ubiquitous disc-shaped spacecraft that serves as the backbone of both military and civilian fleets across the Terranauts universe. In Gray Guard configuration, these 310-meter heavy exploration cruisers are among the most feared patrol vessels in corporate space. Kampfringos — combat variants occupied by Gray Guards — enforce the Council of Corporations' will across human-settled worlds, while Garden Ringos serve as mobile habitats. The Ringo design is remarkably versatile: the GARIBALDI, a Driver tug stolen from a Gray Guard base in the Cheviot Hills during the daring raid of "The Starship Thieves" (Episode 024), served as a Terranaut warship for over thirty episodes before its destruction in the Turquoise system. This cutaway shows the Gray Guard standard configuration with its complement of Star-Wasp scout craft, 44 heavy laser cannons, dual point-defense turrets, and the dual fusion drive system producing 4.2 GW of power. The 20 annotated compartments reveal command and control systems, propulsion and power sections, and habitation decks complete with a hydroponics bay and AR recreation area for the 64-member crew.

Starcruiser Battle-Fighter Class

Single-Seat Interceptor / Heavy Assault Craft

Overview

The Starcruiser Battle-Fighter is the next-generation combat craft that replaced the aging Atar-class fighters in the Atar-Geschwader — the elite fighter squadrons of the Council of Corporations. These 22-meter single-seat interceptors represent the pinnacle of small-craft military engineering, combining compact fusion drives with short-range hyperspace jump capability for devastating hit-and-run tactics. Deployed from massive Starcruiser-Träger (carrier ships), they formed the fast-strike element of Valdec's feared Steel Fleet — the armada of funnel ships, Starcruiser carriers, and nuclear-armed container tugs assembled for the Kaiser Force transit to the galactic core. Cosmoral Yazmin commanded entire squadrons of Starcruisers during the final campaign. Robot-controlled Interceptor variants (Abfangjäger) served as autonomous defense screens around capital ships. The cutaway reveals 20 annotated systems across four groups: command and control with deflector shield emitters and point-defense laser turrets, propulsion engineering with the micro-hyperspace drive matrix and enhanced grav-wave coil array, avionics and pilot systems including the ejection system and automated life support cycle, and the weapons and main power section housing compact plasma fusion cells and forward transporter arrays.

Kaiserkraft-Transmitter (Ultima Thule Type)

Kaiser Force Transmitter — Stationary Space II Gateway Installation

Overview

The Kaiserkraft-Transmitter is the central technological antagonist of the entire Terranauts saga — a stationary installation that tears open gateways between normal space and Space II without the need for psionic Drivers or mistletoe blossoms from Yggdrasil. Developed by the Kaiser Corporation under Max von Valdec's sponsorship and engineered by Master Builder Zarkophin, these transmitters promised to free humanity from dependence on the biological elite of Drivers. The catastrophic reality was far different: Kaiser Force does not merely open doorways to Space II — it tears them, destabilizing the fabric between dimensions and generating entropy-accelerating KF-emissions that propagate outward, destroying planets, disrupting the High Space, and threatening the Intercosmic Anti-Entropy System (the Long Row) that prevents the universe from collapsing into heat death. The first Kaiser Force ship, the MIDAS I, was destroyed on activation. Undeterred, Valdec built the MIDAS II at the Ziolkowski Shipyards and unveiled it to the Council Assembly as proof that Driver space travel was obsolete. This Ultima Thule type transmitter shows the dome-shelled installation with its secondary deflection array, tertiary receiver grid, primary omni-antenna mast, and the central energy coupling and magnetic field generator that make possible — and terrifying — the breaching of dimensional barriers.
